Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi has responded to speculation he is set to join Leeds United as a replacement for Junior Firpo.

Leeds have been linked with a summer move for Sanusi and were said to be ready to offer the full-back a deal until 2029. Daniel Farke's side are hoping to secure promotion to the Premier League this season and may need to replace Junior Firpo as his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Sanusi has struggled for game time at Porto this season as he works his way back from a long spell out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. However, the defender does appear keen to stay at Porto and has dismissed talk of a summer move to the Championship side.

Sanusi told allnigeriasoccer.com: "I am not in contact with Leeds United or any team right now. I am not negotiating with Leeds United and I have not been offered a four-year contract. They lied about it."
